Notes on Healing Emotions When Kicking the Sugar Habit ~ Part 2

In Part 1 of Kicking the Sugar Habit, I talked a little about the reason why I'm quitting sugar and some insights that surfaced by doing so. At that point, I was off sugar for 5 days. Now it's been 11 days and it's actually not going so bad - it hasn't been really easy, but it's been ok. And in Part 1, I told you I'd tell you why it's been not so bad this time (I've tried quitting sugar in the past)............Are you ready? Here it is: I've deepened the connection to my Higher Self.
Here are a few ways in which this deepened connection has helped me continue to kick the sugar habit: - By gaining awareness of emotions that surface within me & in this case, the emotions that surface when I have a craving
- By responding to the emotions instead of reacting (being unaware or unconscious) and heading to the snack cabinet
- Allowing myself to feel the emotions that surface without resistance
- By healing anxiety (being able to feel the emotions that surfaced within me when experiencing anxiety), it has helped me to be able to feel the 'kicking the sugar habit' emotions as well

By making space within my being and allowing the sensations (from the emotions) in my body to be there and feel them without adding a a story and commentary from my mind

Write down your insights: How did the 'tracking your eating' go for you this past week? Did you commit to doing it? If yes, what insights surfaced for you? If not, what reason surfaced for you as to why you didn't?
Now the second part of your playwork is to circle every single food item on that sheet that contains sugar - and that includes any white flour stuff like pasta and also stuff like salad dressings, ketchup and cereal (unless you know that there's no sugar in the ones you used), white rice and drinks you had that contained sugar too.
And then, once you have them all circled, print out another "Kicking the Sugar Habit ~ becoming aware of what I really eat so I can mindfully choose a new path to health" tracking sheet and this week, write down what you eat again, with the intention of eating less sugar and simple carbs.
