Breathing is an anxiety-relieving tool.
Have you ever tried to hold your breath on purpose? It's not a great feeling right?! It adds stress to the body and feels very uncomfortable.
So why do we hold our breath in times of stress and anxiety?
It's because we formed the habit of 'reacting' to these types of situations rather than responding to them.
If we're not aware of the amazing tool our breath is in times of crisis, then we won't know to use it. We'll react to the situation instead by constricting our body and restricting the breath.
Let's talk a little bit more about the breath and it's relation to anxiety.
I believe there is no separation between mind and body.
Thus, everything we think, feel, or experience has an affect on us at a cellular level, including our emotions of anxiety, anger, sadness, grief, and fear.
And if we don't have a way to process these emotions, they have nowhere to go but back into our body. Then the energetic vibration of these unprocessed emotions may become chronic anxiety, leaving us more susceptible to ....
