[VedaSun]-A Friday message for you........
Published: Fri, 09/28/12
This week I received another nudge to send you something, but this
time it's more of a message that surfaced for me today.
I read something this morning and it hit me in a certain way....that
ever happen to you?
Here's what I read:
"It is essential to realize and embrace the paradox that while no
one can go through your journey for you, you are not alone.
Everyone is on the same journey.......we all journey alone
together..........."
'we all journey alone together'.........that is quite the paradox
isn't it?!
That is the part of the statement that hit me this morning. Kathy
Bates's character in PS, I Love You, said something similar to
Hilary Swank's character in that movie.....she said:
"If we're all alone, then we're in that together."
It made me think of how so many people feel alone when suffering....
.....whether it be suffering from anxiety, depression, grief,
anger, illness and so on.
Whatever it is, you are not alone. There's always someone out there
who is experiencing some sort of pain.
Most people in this world suffer in one way or another. Many don't
realize that suffering is actually optional. It makes me
think of that saying:
"Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional."
And I know how hard it must be to think you can be in some sort
of pain, be it physical, mental or emotional, and it's possible
not to suffer.
I'm here to tell you that that is the truth. I've experienced it not
only in my life, but I've seen it in my husband's life experience as
well.
It truly is possible not to suffer.
I've been on that side.....the side of suffering.....and now I'm on
the other side......and that doesn't mean I don't experience pain
or anxiety anymore, but what I don't experience anymore is the
suffering part.....what happens is I catch myself quickly....if I
see myself playing the suffering role of victim or blame or shame,
I become aware of it fast. And I have 2 choices.......
1. I can choose to keep on suffering
OR
2. I can choose to surrender with complete acceptance
And I choose #2 because once you become aware of how you make
yourself suffer, it's quite insane to choose suffering, isn't it?!
That's why AWARENESS IS SO KEY!
To become aware of what it is that makes you suffer.......that is
the start of awakening and that is the start of the end of your
suffering.
That's why I do what I do. I want to help you end your suffering.
But as the passage says above 'no one can go through your journey
for you'..........
........it also says in that passage.......YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
Wishing you a weekend filled with little sparks of awareness that
awakens you to the deeper knowing of who you truly are and in that
knowing, realizing you are never alone.
