And choose that by envisioning what your day will be like as you move through your day with your desired feeling. Close your eyes and envision. Sound too simple? Well, I'll tell you a secret - it's the simplest things that make the hugest impacts!

2012 flew by for me! How about you?

2012 was quite loaded with projects for me........this year I'm choosing to do things a little differently.

But 2012 was a good year looking back.......I learned a heck of a lot in the tech world and also about myself (for me, that last one is the best kind of learning!)

So here we go...............

I hosted the Anxiety Busting Challenge - it started Dec. 31 & continuted  into 2012

I hosted two Anxiety Busting Virtual Retreats (online)

I hosted the Anxiety Busting Summit (free event you can get access to here)

Did a video interview for the Celebrate Life Summit

Found a great hairstylist near me (by recommendation)

Wrote a guest post about connecting with your Higher Self to be the best YOU evah!

How Does Aromatherapy Work?

Aromatherapy is the art and science of using aromatic substances for healing.

The aromatice substance I talk mostly about is essential oils. Essential oils are the aromatic extracts that are distilled from different parts of plants such as the flowers, roots, leaves, needles + wood for instance.

So how do these essential oils actually work to heal the body?

First we'll learn when happens when they enter the body.

Essential oils can enter the body via the skin or through inhalation. Our sense of smell is a main pathway in terms of the effect on the body.

  • So what happens is we smell an essential oil.
  • The vapor stimulates hair-like receptors of our olfactory nerve.
  • The olfactory nerve stimulates the limbic part of our brain.
  • It's here where we process the smell and where emotions + memories are triggered.

This all happens in seconds and we respond almost immediately to a scent.

Pretty cool, eh?!

That's what happened with me when I smelled lavender essential oil for the first time back around 1998. I opened a bottle and inhaled and that was it........I felt calm + I got hooked on aromatherapy!
