[Note from Gina]-Hitting 'rock bottom' + the simple truth, Part 1

Hola ,

Have you ever hit a place that feels like rock bottom? And you just
aren't sure how to start climbing out?

I wanted to send you a heart to heart note about this.

First I want you to know that so many people go through this type
of experience in life. I have and many people I know have or are
there now.

Second, many would label that rock bottom place as negative. But I
look at it in a different way.

Third, things change. Life is change. So that means that you won't
be in that rock bottom place forever. (thank goodness, right?!)

Fourth, there's always something that you can do.

So let's take a peek at why I look at hitting rock bottom in a
different way.

It all has to do with a simple truth. And that simple truth is that
many people who have been at a really deep rock bottom place
in their lives have grown and learned something from it. And that
something usually has to do with learning something about
themselves. And from that learning, their life expands in some way.

Just look at some of the great spiritual teachers like Eckhart Tolle,
Byron Katie and Anita Moorjani. They hit a deep dark place. They
didn't expect to be doing what they are doing now, but they would
never be doing what they are doing without going through what they
went through. I know that these examples are more extreme - you don't
have to become a well-known person when you emerge from that deep
dark place. You can however, feel that freedom that they all feel -
that is what's possible.

I'm not saying that you are going to turn into a great
spiritual teacher (but hey, you never know), but what I am saying
is that hitting rock bottom doesn't always mean that things turn
out bad - many times it's just the opposite - you come out of it
knowing more about yourself than you ever have if you allow
yourself to learn from the experience.....and that's part of the
simple truth too - opening yourself up enough to look at and
allow the learning to happen. My spiritual teacher told me once (I'm
paraphrasing) that it usually takes some form of suffering to occur
for someone to start on that inward journey.

So, how do we begin to open up and learn from this experience?

I'll cover more about that in the next note.....so keep an eye out
for that note to arrive in a couple days.......

Until then, breathe big.......
