I've been getting a lot of notes recently from people who are so kindly sharing what they need help with around anxiety. And I see a connection around all of them which, I see, as the main cause of their anxiety. (I see it because I experienced it too.)

This made me dig up an article I wrote about 2 years ago, and I'm posting it in this newsletter today because it's relevant to what many people experience each day which causes a great deal of struggle, stress and anxiety, and is, if not right up there in the top 3, the #1 cause, in my opinion, of anxiety. And this topic was what was connecting all the recent emails I've been getting from people.

And that topic is RESISTANCE.

Any time you have anxiety,
check in and notice if something is going on that you are pushing away, wish wasn't happening, and/or trying your best to avoid.

That's Resistance.

Third Portal to Freedom: Non-Resistance

Claire is getting older. She looks at her face and sees the wrinkles that are forming at the edges of her eyes, around her mouth and on her forehead. She sees gray hairs poking through her dark mane.

She notices it's harder to get out of bed in the morning - her joints are stiff and her back aches. It takes more time to do things. It takes more effort to exercise and get her body moving. She starts to become upset and anxious as she thinks, 'I don't want to get old, I don't want to feel these aches in the morning, and I don't want these wrinkles on my face.'

Whenever you rebel against what is happening in the moment, you are resisting 'What Is'.

Whenever you resist 'what is',  you suffer.

Resistance (and non-resistance) has to do with our relationship with.....
