Recently I've been seeing a lot of energy from my 'pain-body' appearing.
Eckhart Tolle describes the painbody as 'an accumulation of old emotional pain'.
I've been feeling a bit like Jekyl and Hyde these past few weeks. One day my energy is totally high and the next it's low with some major mood swings going on.
So I've been watching this and the stories that show up with it as well.
The story of maybe I'm in that perimenopause stage. The story that I should be further along in my biz than I am. The story of getting older.
So I took a really hard look at these stories and decided to question each one of them and do some work with them.
I truly believe that life will get our attention in some form or another. It got my attention with anxiety and even though it was a hellish trip at times, I'm quite grateful for it.
And now I feel like this new onslaught of emotions coming through is here to take me even further on this journey.
Back to the stories
..........I decided that if I struggle and resist all that I'm feeling in this moment then I will be choosing to suffer. And I don't want to suffer.
Or I can 'accept what is', allow what I'm feeling to be there without judging and labeling it, and take on new perspectives (which as you probably have figured out by now if you've been around for a while, is a big key lesson I've learned on the healing journey).
And here's another key lesson I'm big on......it takes work.
You just don't say, hey, I'm going to just Let Go and Accept All That Is. Ok, maybe some of you have had an epiphany and that's what happened.
But for most of us, it takes daily practice to have what we want in life. If you want to cultivate more inner peace, more health, more fun, more connection......whatever it is.....you need to practice that.
It takes conscious action to create what you truly desire.
So for now, this is how I'm feeling. And when my energy is low and moody, it's my responsibility to lift myself up, if I choose.
And most of the time, that's what I choose. It may take the form of:
- Sitting with the emotions
-
Going for a walk
- Putting on my favorite music
- Doodling
- Writing in a journal
- Stretching
- Making a new aromatherapy blend
- Brewing up a mug of my favorite tea
- Writing a letter to a friend
- Playing my wooden native flute
- Doing a tuning fork session on myself
These are all things I have in my energy toolbox that I know lifts me up. For me these are all wonderful mindfulness/awareness practices that I use that take me away from the chatterbox of the mind and bring me back into my body, back into the moment and back into life and to what really matters.
What are some things you have in your energy toolbox? If you don't have one, are you open and willing to create one? What's the first thing you'd add in?
