Our senses are a powerful pathway to the present moment.
Give it a try.
Right now, pause for 1 minute, close your eyes and put all your attention on what you hear.
Just listen.
If your mind wanders, just gently bring your attention back on your ears and what you are hearing. Don't label or judge what you hear, just listen.
Did you do it? Cool....what did you notice?
Did you notice a little more peace and calm?
The mind can't focus on more than one thing at once. So when you are 'just listening', you can't focus on anything else until your mind wanders.
This can be a practice you do each morning upon awakening before you even get out of bed.
When you awaken, take a deep breath and just listen.
Try it for the next week and see if you notice anything different.
