The Ingredient Know as 'Fragrance'
Have you ever seen the term 'fragrance' on the ingredients label of a product you purchased?
As I was researching ingredients when I made my own skin care, I learned a lot about what ingredients to avoid and one of those ingredients is 'fragrance'. And I avoided it because I learned that fragrance meant that the scent in that product was made with chemicals and not with pure essences such as essential oils.
But recently I learned something else about the ingredient called, fragrance from Ava Anderson. I learned that manufacturers can actually hide hundreds of chemicals under the term 'fragrance' or 'perfume'. More than 75% of manufacturers are legally hiding phthalates under this term.
Phthalates are known endocrine disruptors and are linked to birth defects and health conditions such as breast cancer, diabetes and autism, among others, by Dr. Landrigan and his team at Mt. Sinai.
So grab the products you are using on yourself and in your home and look for that ingredient and start to choose products that do not contain this ingredient and that are healthier for you and your family. Your body will thank you a ton!
