Control What You Can &
Let Go of the Rest:
Have you heard that phrase, 'don't give your power away'?
It's actually a pretty good phrase to keep in mind even when anxiety surfaces.
Anxiety does not come from 'some place out there'. It comes from within you.
So to say that a situation or event caused you to have anxiety or that what someone wrote about caused you to have anxiety is not exactly a true statement.
It's how you responded to it that caused you to feel anxious about it.
And it's ok to feel anxious or fearful as long as you are aware that you are feeling that way and that it's not the outside circumstance that actually caused it, but your reaction to it.
When we can begin to truly see this - that something got triggered within us - then we can truly begin to see where our healing needs to take place.
So be thankful for those opportunities where anxiety is triggered within you.
And instead of trying to 'fix it' or 'numb it out', say, 'ahhh, thank you life for bringing to my attention what I have been avoiding'.
And get curious and quiet and reflect on what you are really avoiding.....this work can be hard, but it is so worth it. You'll find that you can't control what life tosses your way, but you can discover what you can control and let go of the rest.
I'm telling you this because it's time for each of us to take back the helm of our life and start navigating a course to a life we truly
love living.
I'm also telling you this because I know you have the courage to do this and also because I know living a life wide awake is much more fulfilling than living a life fast asleep.
