Pathway to Presence eZine: raise your Inner Vibe & connect with your Inner Essence!
What is your most important job?
Is it your actual job in the workplace? taking care of your family? being a good friend? a good listener? a devoted wife/husband?
Where do YOU fit in within that most important job?
You are your most important job. If you don't take care of yourself, how will you take care of all the other jobs you consider highly valuable and important? If you neglect yourself, you will probably be able to take care of all your other jobs for a while, but at some point, your body will speak out loud and clear that it needs some attention. Do you agree?
I totally agree and the reason I agree is because it happened to me.
There was a period in my life where my body just fell apart. I had been used to doing everything for others and not much for myself. This extended into my career as a hairstylist as well. I would do everything to serve others at the expense of my well being. I wouldn't eat because I took clients back to back or I'd eat so fast that I didn't enjoy my food and nor did my body. It's no wonder I developed acid reflux years later. But my clients were happy. I'd leave for home with heartburn and/or indigestion, but hey, I served lots of people that day and they will be back because I squeezed them in. Now I'm not saying that I don't like to serve my clients or my family and friends - I actually love doing that more now than ever. Why? Because I made a shift within........more about that in a bit.......
Because I kept spinning my wheels behind the styling chair, as well as trying to make sure everyone else was taken care outside of work, when real tragedy hit home for me, I collapsed. My body and mind could not take the challenge life presented to me because I was not fit in all respects - I was fit physically, but mentally and emotionally - not even close.
My life was filled with anxiety and it took all my might to get through my days.
I realized something had to change and I took steps, tiny steps, that lead me on a huge healing path.
I'm very lucky in that I had enormous support from my husband who was by my side in every step of this journey, and still is.
Support is truly important, but you also have to choose and have the desire to heal. And one aspect of healing is starting to pay more attention to yourself and what it is that brings you joy, happiness and peace. If you have that, then you can serve others 12 hours a day (if you choose) and enjoy every minute of it. But it's taking that first tiny step to find some stillness in order to hear what your body and soul is trying to whisper to you.
The funny thing is though, in order to hear those whispers, you need to find the stillness in the spaces.
You need to let the thinking mind take a break and let that space that exists between your thoughts emerge. It is here that you will discover all you need to know in any area of your life. Remember, most inventions are created within this space, not within the thinking mind!
So before we get going with more good stuff......

The Best Gluten Free Bread!
I had to share this with my gluten free peeps. One of my clients
told me about Udi's Gluten Free Bread and I purchased some at Whole
Foods yesterday. This bread is delicious and it's like eating REAL
bread. You can eat it without toasting it too...I couldn't believe it. So I
went on Udi's site and saw this video and wanted to share it with you.
I'm going to try this French Toast recipe this......
VedaSun's Word of the Day: EMERGE
Have you been hiding and laying low for far too long?
It's time to emerge from under your safety net and discover, or
re-discover, what you have to share with the world and bring your
succulent dream into view.
I totally understand how it's way more comfortable to stay where you
are. Because for you to make a move, and emerge from that comfortable
situation you are in, you will face challenges, uncertainty, risks and
let's not forget about the tumultuous emotions that will surface...
Low Energy? Take a Prana Break!
Prana is a Sanskrit term that means 'life force, breath or
energy'. You may also have heard called 'Qi or Chi'.
Usually throughout our day we tend to breathe 'shallow' and too high in
our chest area. This is not how we are meant to breathe. Everyday stress
tends to lead us to breathe this way. We tighten up in our shoulder and
neck area and this can constrict our breathing.
If you're feel like you're lacking energy, stop and notice your
breathing.
Here's...
Bobbi's Tuscan White Bean Dip
(I get it at Whole Foods - their website is
www.ilovebobbi.com but site is under
construction right now).
~ I have one word for you....YUM! This bean dip
is amazing. It's gluten free and I dip carrots,
cucumbers and other veggies or rice crackers in
it. It's also great to use with pasta! It's like a
good-for-you alfredo sauce - I tried it and it was D-licious!

- Women have a much stronger sense of smell than men
- Our sense of smell is weakest in the morning
- 80% of what we taste is due to our sense of smell
- We each have our own unique odor or 'smellprint', except for identical twins
- Our sense of smell is stronger in the spring and summer (I guess it's so we can smell all the pretty flowers :)
